I like to experiment with building horns from components I have on hand and when one of my experiments turns out well I finish the horns and offer them for sale. I have sold about a dozen of these one-of-a-kinds over the past few years and each and everyone of my customers have loved them. These horns represent hours of tinkering and experimenting until I find a combination I think works well.

Custom One of a Kind Trumpet BUPKGZ $700

This horn is a combination of a valve section from a Buescher (short throw /quick valves), a Getzen Severinsen Model Eterna bell and a custom copper stepped design Pilczuk leadpipe. Avery pretty three tone combination of copper, brass and nickle silver. The is very trumpet responsive with a bright but full sound. Armado corkless water keys. .460 bore. A really nice jazz horn.

Custom Hand Hammered Bell Trumpet $900

A very striking and nice playing one-of-a-kind trumpet. The hand hammered bell is small at the flare but the horn gets a nice full sound due to the Olds .460 bore valve section. The Pilczuk leadpipe aids in centering. The pictures speak for themselves. The main tuning slide was damaged in shipping back from the refinishers and shows some waviness but this in no way effects the way this horn plays, it is really a wonderful horn and striking to the eye.

Conn 10B Coprion $850

Conn made this 10B in 1959 and it differs from the ones mad in 56-58 in that it is built on the Connstellation frame wheras the early ones were built on a more conventional smaller bowed one and employed the older style bottom sprung "clickless crysteel" pistions.. Both share the big 5 1/8" coprion bell. This is not to be confused with the Director which was a student horn, the 10B was surpassed in price only by the Connstellation and according to Conn shared playong and tonal characterisitcs with it. I always prefered the 10B. I think the coprion bell darkens and thickens the tone somewhat. This one is good condition not excellent or mint but as you can see from the photos it is a very attractive instrument with the original carrying case. Some evidence of dent removal and a slight curve in the leadpipe but it plays really well. The slides and pistons are perfect.

Conn Vintage Trumpet in Bb circa 1919 $800

A very, very nice Conn from the WWI period, quite early for a trumpet. This trumpet has received a complete valve refit/replate by Anderson Silver Plating, the best in the business for this. This allows the instrument to play as it did when it was new. Being sold without case or mouthpiece. Silver plate with gold accents. Some of the gold is thin but the horn shows no signs whats so ever of any trauma. Dent free, no resolders, and straight as it was when new. This horn plays fantastic. It doesn't get a loud sound like a modern trumpet but for play things like St Jacome, the arban Characteristic studies, and early jazz it is perfect! A real blast to play. The tone is compact and bright but not nasal. ML .458" bore 41/2" bell.

Martin Dansant Handcraft Bb circa 1925 $425

A very nice, all original vintage Martin Dansant Medium bore Bb trumpet from the Jazz Age. This horn is all orignal and in very nice shape for such an old piece AND it plays really well! Comes with 2 original Martin mouthpieces, lyre, cleaning rod and orignal compact case. After I did the orignal photos I noticed the beginnings of a hairline crack in the leadpipe so I added a protection patch to reinforce the area. It is shown in the last two pictures.
